we all GROW up together!

Proiectul a inceput marti, 8 martie.
Am urmarit filmulete despre discriminare, droguri, sport etc

Am scris si in engleza pentru trainerii mei...
English version:

A week ago I showed you some photos from the GROW project in which me and other mates participated at.

At the closing event I found out that we were the first group in Romania who graduated this course, so I decided to make a “review” about the project because very soon this project will arrive in most of the high schools in Romania, if it’s not possible in all of them.

When we first heard about the GROW project we were undecided if to go or no because we knew we were supposed to speak in English and we were afraid that we wouldn’t be as good as our trainers expect us to be, but it wasn’t like this.

The first session was hold on the 8th of March. When we got into the room, Iulya, Marichka and Nicolai were sheepish waiting for us but wishful to know us better and to learn new things about our country.

The first “class” was highly strung because we didn’t know each other, but we played some funny games through which we found out things about our mates like our likes, our dislikes, funny memories an so on. We found out that Marichka and Iulya are from Ukraine and Nicolai from Bulgaria.

Unfortunately, we couldn’t learn more about Bulgaria because Nicolai started his trainings at “Mihai Viteazu” High School, but we learnt a lot about Ukraine, their traditions, music and so on.

During these five weeks we learnt that if we work together we can change something, if we are organised we can reach the purpose we fight for, we learnt that the apparently insignificant things are the most important etc.

The most interesting thing in this training was the way of teaching us: by playing. We made teams, we laugh, we felt how bad is to be discriminated, we made debates about smoking, cooked food versus fast food etc and everything seemed so real…

We watched some movies about discrimination, drugs, sports, culture, other countries etc

Because this training was held in a funny way, if we were late we were punished, but the punishments were not usual ones, they were funny punishments, that we wrote on pieces of paper in the first session. For example, being late meant barking, doing the moon-walk, singing or saying a poem etc. It was very funny because my mates from 9E were always late on Tuesday (their classes ended at 14:50 but, unfortunately for them, the sessions began at 14:00)

However, the main idea is that, if you hear about GROW in your high school, don’t hesitate this opportunity because this project helps yourselves development, helps you interacting easily with different kinds of people, helps you to get the indispensable communication skills and so on, so… let’s GROW up together!

I hope Marichka and Iulya will see this. I want to thank you for the great time we passed together in these five weeks and for all the things you’ve learnt us! So thank you one more time and I hope we’ll see each other soon, at GROW 10 . XoXo
